Jesus Explained in a One Minute Story…..
In the heart of an elderly man, who had lost his wife and possessed few material belongings, one precious thing remained — his son. The father’s love for his child knew no bounds, forged from the deep, unbreakable connection since the day the child was born. As the boy flourished, the father poured ceaseless love into his growth. However, with time, the son’s heart grew distant.
Though the father gave all he owned to his son, the boy’s eyes focused on what he lacked, perceiving the father’s guidance as restrictions, holding him back. Hatred brewed in the son’s heart, leading to a moment of anger where he struck his father to the ground. With a heavy heart, tears in his eyes, the father watched his beloved son leave, seeking freedom from his words and protection.
Years later, the son’s reckless path led to a court declaring him guilty of numerous crimes, facing the death penalty and an unattainable bail. Just as the judge was about to seal the son’s fate, the father entered the courtroom, and sacrificed everything he had to pay his son’s debt and secure his freedom. Overwhelmed with remorse, the son fell to his knees, tears of sorrow streaming down his face.
In a loving embrace, the father lifted his son, declaring, “In your darkest moments, my love remained unwavering. Now, forgiven and free, let’s return to the warmth of home, where love always awaits.”
Humanity, a love story written by God.
You are that child. Each and every one of us are. Our sin filled actions have separated us from a relationship with God, the father. We have torn apart His heart, and betrayed the one who loves us the most. And the price for our sin is death. But God, the Creator of the universe, to save us from our own condemnation humbled himself and descended to earth taking the form of human, Jesus. He then gave himself up Himself as a living sacrifice for our sins to cover the debt we once owed with our life.
But a Gift must be accepted to be received….
So than what must be done to inherit this free gift of redemption?
Believe.
“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Genuine belief in the heart is the first step to salvation
Repent.
At its core, this is what it takes. Acceptance and repentance of the heart, true sorrow of our sins, of our rebellion against the father that saves us. No human can be saved by their own works, it is purely out of the Lords mercy that we are granted life with him.
Testify.
Just as a judge cannot be swayed by a person’s good deeds to overlook their crimes, God cannot be influenced to overlook our sins by our righteous acts. Nevertheless, expressing kindness, extending forgiveness, practicing generosity, and spreading the gospel naturally flow as responses to salvation, and thankfulness of his love. This is the mark of a true follower of Christ.
